Rudolph "Flash" Klancher

Rudolph “Flash” Klancher, ag 94, at rest on Thursday, January 11, 2007 at Provena Villa Franciscan with his loving family at his side.

Born December 27, 1912 in Joliet and a lifelong resident. Self employed as a Plasterer for over 40 years then retired  in 1978 from Sunny Hill Nursing Home as a custodian. Veteran of the U.S. Army and honorably discharged on January 11, 1946. Rudolph was a lifetime member of Northwest Recreation Club, St. Joseph Holy Name Society, KSKJ #29, and a 50-year member of the American Legion Post 1080. He was an avid gardener and enjoyed making flower crafts and bird houses.

Survived by his beloved wife of 57 years Nellie “Pat” (nee Brugnara) Klancher. Loving father to Shirley (Raymond) Munday, Patricia (Thomas) Janes, and James Klancher. Devoted grandfather of Michael (fiancée Karen) Munday, Robert (fiancee Cassandra), Amy (fiancé Nick) and Becky Klancher. Great-grandpa to Braelyn Klancher. Grandpets to Fluffy, Barney and Nermal. One sister Ann (late Frank) Meader, and sister-in-law Josephine (late Frank) Klancher. Also survived by numerous nieces, nephews and cousins.

Preceded in death by his parents Frank J. & Theresa “Rose” (nee Sterle) Klancher. One brother Frank (Josephine) Klancher, five sisters Mary,and Dorothy Klancher, Rose PeKol, Bernice Pierson and Genevieve Roach.

At Rudolph’s  request cremation rights were accorded.

In lieu of flowers contributions in Rudolph’s name to Joliet Area Community Hospice would be appreciated.

The family of Rudolph Klancher invites relatives and friends to join them for a Memorial Mass of Christian Burial to be celebrated on Thursday, January 18, 2007 at St. Joseph Church in Joliet at 11:00 a.m. The family will receive relatives and friends starting at 10:00 AM in church. Interment will be at St. Joseph Cemetery.

There will be no funeral home visitation.
