 It is with our deepest sorrow and heavy hearts that we must announce the tragic passing of our beloved Ruben De La Torre Junior on November 16, 2024 at the age of 40. Ruben Jr. was a cherished family member and his untimely departure has left a void in our lives that words cannot begin to express. 

Born on February 12, 1984, Ruben Jr. grew up in the suburbs of Chicago, IL. He became known for his kindness, generosity, and infectious sense of humor. Whether as a father, husband, son, sibling, friend, or colleague, Ruben Jr. touched the lives of everyone he met. He had an unwavering commitment to those he loved. Ruben Jr. was a vibrant soul, whose passion, determination, and love for life inspired everyone around them. Ruben Jr.’s energy was boundless, and his adventurous spirit knew no limits. Whether tackling a new challenge, exploring uncharted territories, or simply engaging with those he loved, Ruben Jr. approached every moment with an enthusiastic attitude.

Throughout his life, Ruben Jr. demonstrated a remarkable work ethic. Following his education at Lockport Township High School, Ruben Jr. pursued his life long goal of entrepreneurship. He was a hardworking business owner and CEO of Ennova Nutriceuticals, based in Miami, FL. Aside from his devotion to work, Ruben enjoyed various activities such as fishing, cuisine, and exploring the outdoors.

Ruben Jr. is survived by his parents Maria and Ruben De La Torre; siblings Grisel, Veronica, Angelica, Alejandro, and JonCarlo De La Torre; ex-spouse Luisa Colina Mieles and their son, Christian De La Torre. Ruben Jr. is also survived by his ex spouse Georgina Alcalde and three beautiful children Aidan, Sofia, and Victoria De La Torre, along with many friends who considered him family.

We ask that you please join us as we lay Ruben Jr. to rest. A celebration of Ruben's life will be held on Sunday, November 24, 2024 at Tezak Funeral Home, 1211 Plainfield Road, Joliet from 3:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. Words of remembrance will be held in the funeral home chapel at 7:00 p.m. Relatives and friends are invited to gather back at the funeral home on Monday, November 25, 2024 from 8:30 a.m. until the time of chapel prayers to begin at 9:30 a.m. The funeral will then travel in procession to the Cathedral of St. Raymond in Joliet for a Mass of Christian Burial to be held at 10:00 a.m. Interment will follow at Resurrection Cemetery in Romeoville. As a result of the financial burden that comes with such a sudden loss, the family kindly requests a donation to his children.

 As we mourn the loss of Ruben Jr., we must also remember to commemorate the fulfilling life he lived. A life full of love, laughter, and celebration. Though our hearts are heavy, we find comfort in knowing that Ruben Jr. will forever be in our hearts, guiding and watching over us. We pray you rest in peace, Ruben De La Torre Junior. You lived adventurously, loved wholeheartedly, and left a trail of light in your wake that will never be forgotten.
