Loving husband of 36 years to Linda (nee Rodriguez) Borrego. Loving father of Robert Rodriguez, Michelle (Cornelius Rouser Sr.), Ruben Borrego Jr., Becky (Michael Smith Sr.), Elizabeth, Jessica, Irma Borrego; loving grandfather of Cornelius Jr. Capria, and Crystal Rouser, Marisa, Michael Jr., Antwan, and Jaylen Smith; Tony, Lorenzo, Tyreque, Nehemiah, and Willie Jr. Borrego; Desiree Strickland; two sisters Victoria (Jore) Contrares, Juanita (Arturo) Nino; brothers Tim (Lorraine), Julio, Roy (Louisa) Borrego; sisters-in-law Blanca (late Manual) and Ines (late Francisco) Borrego. Also survived by numerous nieces, nephews and cousins.
Preceded in death by his parents Timoteo and Delia (nee De La Fuente) Borrego; sister Mary Lou Borrego; brothers Manual Sr., Francisco Borrego Sr.
Ruben resided in Joliet most of his lifetime.
The Family would like to give a special thanks to the Dialysis Team (afternoon shift) and the Doctors at Silver Cross Hospital and the Staff at Provena St. Joseph Medical Center for all their extended care and support throughout Ruben"s illness.
A Chapel Service will be held at the Funeral Home on Tuesday, November 20, 2007 at 12:00 Noon. Visitation will also be on Tuesday from 10:00 AM until the time of the service. Cremation rites will be accorded.
