Roy W. Kuriger, age 63, at rest on Tuesday, May 28, 2013 with his loving family surrounding him.
He is survived by his loving wife of 41 years, Judy (nee Stefanski); his sons Royko (Kelly), and Sean (Tonya) Kuriger; his grandchildren Sean, Hailey, Dominic, Anthony, Theresa, and Chase; his brother Harley (Mara); sisters Marsha A�??CookieA�?i�� Miller, Linda (Jim) Moffit; Goddaughter and niece Dedra Sachtleben; nieces and nephews, Stacy, Damien, Tiffany, Michael, Michelle, and Melissa; numerous aunts, uncles and cousins also survive.
Preceded in death by his parents Marshall and Ann (nee Radakovich) Kuriger.
Roy was a 1968 Plainfield High School graduate and worked for Ball Glass for 28 years. He then retired from Naperville School District in 2011 after 14 years of service. Roy was a SP4 in the United States Army and a proud Army veteran. He attended St. George Serbian Orthodox Church and sang in the choir. Roy was an avid science-fiction movie watcher. He loved to sing with his beautiful voice and spend as much time as possible with his cherished grandchildren. Roy was a Bakery Angel for the Joliet Area Community Hospice Home. He was a wonderful person who touched many peopleA�??s lives and will be truly missed by all who knew him.
In lieu of flowers donations to the family to be used according to their wishes would be appreciated.
Funeral Services for Roy will begin on Saturday, June 1, 2013 at 9:30 a.m. with prayers in the funeral home chapel, then driving in procession to St. George Serbian Orthodox Church for a Funeral Service to begin at 10:00 a.m. Interment to follow at Woodlawn Memorial Park in Joliet. Visitation will be on Friday, May 31, 2013 from 2:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. with a Pomen Service to take place at 5:00 p.m. at Tezak Funeral Home, 1211 Plainfield Rd, Joliet.
