Rose Marie Zupancic (nee Belasich), age 89, peacefully entered eternal life on Wednesday, May 24, 2017. Born May 19, 1928 in Joliet, resided in Plainfield for 57 years.
Survived by her devoted family; daughter, Mary Kay (James) Thayer of Spring, TX; sons, Paul (Sandi) of Marseilles and James (Joanna) of Romeoville. Loving grandmother to her four granddaughters, Jaclyn (Jason) Nichols, Jessica (Robert) Johnson, Jane Thayer and Marissa Zupancic. Proud great-grandmother of Austin, Emily and Henry Nichols. She is also survived by brother-in-law, Charles (the late Evelyn) Anzelc; many nieces, nephews and cousins.
Preceded in death by her husband, Joseph “Dick” Zupancic (1998); parents, Anton and Mary (nee Raspolich) Belasich; one sister in infancy, Mary; sisters, Dorothy (Victor) Kunke and Evelyn Anzelc; and brother, Raymond Belasich.
Rose Marie was devoted to her Catholic faith and a parishioner of St. Mary Nativity Catholic Church. She was a loving and caring mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, sister and aunt who will be truly missed.

A celebration of Rose Marie’s life will begin on Tuesday, May 30, 2017 with prayers in the funeral home chapel at 9:20 a.m. then driving in procession to St. Mary Nativity Catholic Church in Joliet for a Mass of Christian Burial to be held at 10:00 a.m. Interment to follow at St. Joseph Cemetery in Joliet. Visitation will be on Monday, May 29, 2017 at Tezak Funeral Home, 1211 Plainfield Road, Joliet from 3:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m.
