Rose M. Mammosser (nee Slapak), age 86, entered into eternal life on Thursday, February 25, 2016.
Rose was born on May 4, 1929 to Thomas and Sophie (nee Hajduk) Slapak in Joliet, IL. Rose worked for St. John’s and the Christian Brother for many years. Rose loved to travel and play bingo. She also loved to spend time with her family and especially her grandkids.
Rose is survived by two loving daughters, Deborah (Lavern) Wilda and Patricia (Joel) Perez; one loving son, Joseph (Tina) Wilabay; cherished grandchildren, Joseph (Kelly) Wilda, and Jaqueline, Crystal, Jeremy (Vanessa), Jodie (Joe), Jenny, and Jason Perez, Gianna Vargas and Josie Stutsman; loving step-daughter, Margaret “Peggy” Arnold; ten cherished great-grandchildren, Tommy and Isaac Hosey, Emilianna Davila, Marcelo, and Sophia Perez, Lucas Wilda, Steven Jr., Jordan and Autumn O’Rourke, Alissa and Kayla Godina, and Payton Walters; cousin, Alice Vanisko; special friends, Di Tribble, Smokey and Barb S.; as well as many more family and friends.
Preceded in death by her husband, John Mammosser; daughter, Mary Saaveedra; two granddaughters, Julie Perez and Kathleen Walters; and parents, Thomas and Sophie (nee Hajduk) Slapak.
In lieu of flowers, donations in Rose’s name to St. John the Baptist Catholic Church, 404 N. Hickory St., Joliet, IL 60435 would be greatly appreciated.
A Celebration of Rose’s life will begin on Wednesday, March 2, 2016 with a Mass of Christian Burial at 10:00 a.m. at St. John the Baptist Catholic Church in Joliet. Interment of cremated remains to follow at Woodlawn Memorial Park. Per Rose’s wishes cremation rites have been accorded. There will be NO services held at the funeral home.
