Ronald L. Wilkinson, 73, passed away on Wednesday, December 13, 2017 at Heartland Regional Medical Center.
Ronald was born on April 17, 1944 in Streator, IL to Charles Wayne and Genevieve (Hert) Wilkinson. He married Mary Lynn Hercegovics who survives and resides in Marion, Illinois.
Ronald served in the U.S. Army from 1962-1967 and was a member and past Commander of the American Legion Post #18. He worked for 33 years for Chevron then part time at Timberline in security. Ronald was of Lutheran Faith; he loved to fish and enjoyed spending time at the lake with family.
Survived by his wife, Mary Lynn Wilkinson; son, Frank (Ann Luce); daughter, Michelle (Mark) Robinson; daughter, Jennifer Koetz; grandchildren, Andrew Luce, Ashley Smith, Matthew and Vanessa Sievert, Kaitlynn Sievert, Zach Koetz, Jonathon Koetz, Frank Luce, Emily Robinson, Mark Robinson, Marissa Luce, Jacob Robinson, Sophia Luce; great-grandchildren, Drew Luce, Kayla Luce, Michael Luce, Alydia Smith, Alayna Smith, Ayden Smith, Presley Sievert, Asher Poston; sister, Charlotte (Gordon) Millerin; brother, Robert (Karla) Wilkinson; several nieces, nephews and cousins.
He was preceded by his father; mother; step father, Clarence May; son, Ralph Wilkinson and son-in-law, Kyle Koetz.
A celebration of Ronald’s life will begin on Tuesday, December 19, 2017 with relatives and friends gathering at the funeral home from 10:00 a.m. until the time of service to be held in the funeral home chapel at 11:00 a.m. Interment will follow at Abraham Lincoln National Cemetery in Elwood. Visitation will be on Monday, December 18, 2017 at Tezak Funeral Home, 1211 Plainfield Road, Joliet from 3:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m.
