Ronald J. Kalcic

Ronald J. Kalcic, age 88, entered eternal life on Thursday, July 10, 2014 with his loving family by his side.

Ronald is survived by his loving children, Brian (Lynn), Bruce (Janet) and Karen Kalcic; dearest grandchildren, Christine and Andrew (Margaret) Kalcic; sister, Diane Kalcic; brother, Abbot Dismas Kalcic O.S.B.; Also survived by numerous nieces, nephews and cousins.

Preceded in death by his wife, Charlis R Kalcic (nee Welch) (1978); two children at infancy; his parents, Rudolph and Frances (nee Culik) Kalcic; three sisters, Lorraine (Ben) Morris, Sylvia (Joseph) Plese and Marie Kalcic; brother-in-law, Lawrence (Helen) Welch.

Ronald was born in Joliet and a lifelong resident. He retired as a Foreman from Olin Corporation in 1982 following 35 years of service. He was a US Navy World War II veteran serving in the Pacific Theatre. Ronald was a lifetime member of Cantigny Post VFW #367, American Legion Post #1080, and Olin Retirees Club.

In lieu of flowers, donations in Ronald's name may be made to St. Patrick Catholic Church St. Vincent DePaul Society.

The family extends a heartfelt thank you to The Joliet Area Community Hospice.

A Celebration of Ronald's life will begin on Monday, July 14, 2014 with a visitation from 9:00 a.m. until the time of Mass of Christian Burial to be held at 10:00 a.m. at St. Patrick Catholic Church in Joliet. Inurnment will take place privately at Resurrection Catholic Cemetery Mausoleum. Per Ronald's wishes, cremation rites have been accorded. There will be no visitation or services at the funeral home.
