Romeo Labbe, age 80, of Plainfield Township, died Wednesday, April 13, 2011 at the residence of his daughter in Braidwood, surrounded by his loving family. He is survived by his devoted children, June (Mark) Decman of Plainfield, Paul (Vickie) Labbe of Joliet, Lori (Wade) Chancey of Braidwood, Jill Labbe of Joliet, and Renee (late David) Williams of Morris, 2 sisters, Doris (Lewis) Wheeler and Rita (Phil) Topel, grandchildren Danny Decman, David, Michelle, and Melissa Labbe, Deona (Jake) Walsh, Taraca and Billy Chancey, Aimee (John) Douglas and Beth and Luke Williams, 3 great-grandchildren, Luke, and Selah Walsh, and Nathan Labbe, as well as numerous nieces, nephews and cousins.
Romeo was preceded by his beloved wife of 38 years Barbara M. Labbe, his parents Marilde and Julie-Ange Labbe, sisters Murielle (late Max)Spencer, and Gertrude (late Fred) Braunsburg, and 1 son-in-law, Ronald Cash.
He was a veteran of the US Army, and was wounded serving during the Korean War. He was employed at Ryerson Steel for over 42 years, and was a member of The Loyal Order of Moose and American Legion Post 13. Romeo enjoyed boating and a spirited discussion with his family and friends.
His family would appreciate memorial donations to Joliet Area Community Hospice, 250 Water Stone Circle Joliet, IL 60431-8313.
Private family services have been held. Interment took place at Woodlawn Memorial Park, Joliet
