Roger J. Rademacher, age 83, died peacefully, Sunday, July 10, 2022 at Lightways Hospice Care, Joliet, IL. following his battle with cancer.
Roger was born on November 15, 1938 in Joliet and a lifelong area resident. A graduate of Lockport High School, class of 1956. Roger was a United States Air Force Veteran. He had a passion for flying his private plane for many years. As a Teamsters Union member, he worked for 40 years in the transportation industry.
Preceded by his loving wife of 59 years, Katherine (nee Cafaro); his father, William F. Rademacher his mother, Honora E. (Cavanaugh) Rademacher Brooks; siblings, Kenneth Rademacher, Paul Rademacher, Elaine Whalen, Catherine Rademacher and Lee Rademacher.
Survived by his only child, who was a loving and devoted son, Christopher J. “John” Rademacher; siblings, Jean (Curt) Thomas of California, Gerald (Debbie) of Joliet, Mary (Bill) Scheidt of Scottsdale, Keith (Beth) of Aurora, John (Helen) of Morris, Denise (Frank) Stec of Florida.; numerous nieces, nephews and cousins also survive.
A celebration of Roger’s life will be held on Monday, July 18, 2022 with prayers in the funeral home chapel at 9:30 a.m. then driving in procession to the Cathedral of St. Raymond Nonnatus for a Mass of Christian Burial to be held at 10:00 a.m. Interment will follow at St. John Cemetery in Joliet. Visitation will be on Sunday, July 17, 2022 at Tezak Funeral Home, 1211 Plainfield Road, Joliet from 4:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m.
