Robert M. Susner

September 19, 1920 — June 15, 2015

Robert M. Susner, age 94, passed away on Monday, June 15, 2015 at Symphony of Joliet with his family at his side.

Robert is survived by his wife, Genevieve (nee Kostyra), his son Nicholas (Karen) Susner, one grandson, Michael Grant (Ginger) Susner, three great-grandchildren, Maya, Angie and Connor Susner, his brother, Jack (Phyllis) Susner and numerous nieces and nephews.

He is preceded in death by his parents, Chris and Ann Susner and brothers, Bernie (Barbara), Richard (Virginia), Raymond and Donald Susner.

Bob was a decorated Army veteran in the European Theater and participated in the Battle of the Bulge in WWII. He is a member of Cantigny VFW post 367.

Bob was retired from U.S. Steel.

In lieu of flowers, donation to the Alzheimer's Association or Holy Cross Church would be appreciated.

A Celebration of Robert's life will begin on Wednesday, June 17, 2015 with a visitation from at 9:00 a.m. until the time of Mass of Christian Burial to be held at 10:00 a.m. at Holy Cross Catholic Church, 901 Elizabeth St, Joliet, IL 60435. Cantigny Post #367 will conduct a service at 9:45 a.m. There will be NO VISITATION OR SERVICES HELD AT THE FUNERAL HOME. Interment to follow at Holy Cross Cemetery in Joliet.
