Robert F. Stuehm Sr., age 87, passed away peacefully at his home on Sunday, October 13, 2013 surrounded by his loving family.
Robert is survived by his beloved wife of 61 years, Barbara (nee Adams); three sons, Robert Jr. (Joanne), Bryan (Shirley) and Bradley (Ann) Stuehm; three granddaughters, Brianne, Rachel and Sarah; one brother and two sisters of Tuscan, AZ, Roy (Mary) Stuehm, Winifred (the late Donald) Smith and Betty (the late Mitch) Mitchell; numerous nieces and nephews also survive.
He is preceded in death by his parents Fred and Olive (nee Frye) Stuehm.
Robert was a proud United States Army veteran who served during World War II. He retired from Stone Container in 1989 after 30 years of service. Robert was handy with his hands and was always there for his family. He was a wonderful husband, father, grandfather and brother who will be truly missed.
The family would like to offer a special thank you to the staff at the Joliet Area Community Hospice Home for all of the wonderful care they have provided.
A Celebration of Robert's life will begin on Thursday, October 17, 2013 with a service to be celebrated in the funeral home chapel at 10:00 a.m. Entombment to follow at Resurrection Cemetery, Romeoville. Visitation will be on Wednesday, October 16, 2013 from 4:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. at Tezak Funeral Home, 1211 Plainfield Rd, Joliet.
