Robert Martin Plut
Age 82. At rest Saturday, August 1, 2009 with his family by his side in the same room in which he was born. Survived by his beloved wife of 56 years, Mary Lou (Nee Fronek) Plut; his daughter Penny (Thomas) Meador and two granddaughters Amy and Amanda Meador of Easton, Connecticut; two sisters Leona (Mike) Kezele and Dorothy (Merv) Krueger as well as numerous nieces and nephews. Preceded in death by his parents Marko and Barbara (Nee Zelko) Plut; four brothers, William, Edward, John in childhood and Leonard in infancy; one sister Mary (Tony) Jelenich. Robert retired from EJ & E Railroad after 30 years. He served in the Navy during WWII and the Army during the Korean War. Robert was honored with the Purple Heart for his service in Korea. He was a member of Catigny Post #367, National Rifle Association, Illinois State Rifle Association, Joliet Moose Lodge # 300, KSKJ St. Francis DeSales Lodge #29. In lieu of flowers, memorials in Robert"s name to Joliet Area Community Hospice would be appreciated.
Where a Celebration of Robert"s life will be held on Thursday at 11am with the Reverend Jim McGuire officiating. Visitation will be Wednesday from 3 ""A�?? 7pm. Interment at Abraham Lincoln National Cemetery.
