Robert J. Minarich, age 81, passed away on Thursday, September 28, 2017 with his family by his side.
Robert is survived by his loving wife, Marlene (nee Scolari) Minarich; son, Duane (Mary Jo) Minarich; daughters, Debbie (Rich) King, Diane (Randy) Christenson; grandchildren, Jessica King, Tyler Christenson, David (Jasmine) Minarich, Elizabeth (Matt) Zimmerman; great grand-children, Jayce Christenson, David Minarich Jr, and Matt Zimmerman Jr, ; sister, Anna Mae Gustafson; sister-in-law, Barbara (Larry) Sukley and brother-in-law, James (Vicki) Scolari. Numerous nieces, nephews and cousins also survive.
Preceded in death by his parents, Peter and Lil (nee Salato) Minarich; brother-in-law, Wayne Gustafson and father and mother-in-law Marco and Angela (nee Gea) Scolari.
Robert was born in Rockdale, IL. He was a United States Army veteran; a member of the Carpenters Local #174 and the Moran AC.
In lieu of flowers, donations in Robert’s memory may be made to Joliet Area Community Hospice.
A celebration of Robert’s life will begin on Tuesday October 3, 2017 with prayers in the funeral home chapel at 10:50 a.m., then processing to Holy Family Catholic Parish in Shorewood for a Mass of Christian burial at 11:30 a.m. Burial in Abraham Lincoln National Cemetery will follow, where a committal service and full military honors will be rendered. Visitation will be held on Tuesday from 9:00 a.m. until time of prayers at Tezak Funeral Home, 1211 Plainfield Road, Joliet.
