Robert I. Lunde

May 5, 1941 — October 27, 2024

Robert I. Lunde, age 83, died peacefully on October 27, 2024. He was born in Cold Spring, Minnesota on May 5, 1941 to Clifford Lunde and Florentine Lunde (nee Terres).

Bob was raised and educated in Cold Spring, MN, attending St. Boniface Catholic School. After graduating from high school, Bob joined the United States Marine Corps and proudly served his country before meeting and falling in love with a beautiful young woman named Marlys. On October 24, 1964, Bob and Marlys were married in front of friends and family and set out to create a wonderful family and happy life together. Bob was an avid sports fan, and was known to sit down and watch any sporting event that happened to be available in that moment. He went out of his way to catch the games of his two favorite teams, the Green Bay Packers and the Milwaukee Brewers. When he wasn’t watching sports, he was playing. He truly enjoyed his opportunities to play a round of golf and considered himself a “student of the game” and was always willing to offer a bit of unsolicited advice.

Bob was preceded in death by his parents, his devoted wife Marlys, his brother Wayne Lunde, sister Sandy Lunde-Tadych, brother Clifford Lunde, brother-in-law Michael Conley, and his brother-in-law Walter Tadych.

He is survived by his dear children; Lisa Lunde, Robyn O’Neill, Steven Lunde, and Scott (Amy) Lunde, his grandchildren; Eric O’Neill, Claire Lunde, Zachary Lunde, Nathan Lunde, and Lucas Lunde, his siblings; Judy Conley, Dick (Nancy) Lunde, Jane (Bob) Stang, Mary Morris, Cindy (Farron) Schaefer, Jeff (Jackie) Lunde, and Michelle (James) Voss as well as numerous nieces, nephews, and other loved ones.

As was Bob’s wish, cremation rites have been accorded and an inurnment at Wisconsin Memorial Park in Brookfield, WI will take place at future date to be determined by his family.
