Born, Peoria, IL. World War II Veteran, Purple Heart Recipient and Army Commendation Medals. Attended Peoria Spalding Institute, St. Benedict’s and University of Missouri. Employee of Sears, Roebuck & Co. and retired in ’81. Past residences: Brookfield, Indian Head Park, Lake Hinsdale, Fort Pierce and Port St. Lucie, FL, and Romeoville, IL. Avid golfer and tennis player. Lived his life fiercely, as a true gentleman who was loving and passionate, spoke honestly (sometimes too honestly), traveled the world, made a strong cocktail and his ultimate comfort was family.
Preceded in death by his beautiful wife of 58 years, Mary Jane ; and his daughter, Sheila Jane (1955-2015).
Survived by his caring companion of twelve years, Nancy Petersen of Grand Haven, Romeoville; four children, Zoe Ann (Kevin) McMillen, Jennifer (William) Stucker, Steven (Sharon), Kerry (Cathy); grandfather of ten; and great-grandfather of ten.
Private interment at Abraham Lincoln National Cemetery. Donations accepted in the form of prayers only, please.
