Robert L. Fosdick

Robert L. Fosdick, age 85, entered into eternal life on Tuesday, July 19, 2016 with his loving daughter by his side.

Robert is survived by his loving daughter, Kimberly (Thomas) Karas; cherished grandchildren, Kevin and Kyle Karas; as well as nieces and nephews.

Preceded in death by his beloved wife, Jewell Fosdick (nee Button) (2015); father, Jacob Fosdick; mother, Bernice Jensen (nee Erschen); and stepsister, Mary Hookie.

Robert was born in Pontiac, IL, graduated from Pontiac Township High School in 1948 and immediately joined the Illinois National Guard. From there he joined the Air Force and served as an aircraft mechanic during the Korean War until 1953. He moved to Joliet, IL where he met his loving wife Jewell whom he married in 1956. This year would have marked their 60th anniversary. He worked at Commonwealth Edison for over 30 years. Robert enjoyed bowling, woodworking and his yearly trip to St. Pete’s Beach, Florida. He also enjoyed spending time with his family and grandchildren.

The family would like to extend a heartfelt thank you to the many healthcare workers at Presence St. Joseph Medical Center, Presence Villa Franciscan and Seasons Hospice & Palliative Care.

A Celebration of Robert’s life will begin on Monday, July 25, 2016 with a funeral service at 10:30 a.m. in the funeral home chapel, Fr. James Lennon officiating. Interment to follow at Elmhurst Cemetery in Joliet. Visitation will be Sunday, July 24, 2016 from 4:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. at Tezak Funeral Home, 1211 Plainfield Rd, Joliet, IL 60435.
