Robert J. Corcoran

Robert J. “Bob” Corcoran, age 45, of Elwood passed suddenly on Thursday, April 16, 2015.

Bob was born and raised in Joliet, Illinois. He graduated from St. Raymond’s Catholic Grade School, Joliet Catholic High, and the University of St. Francis.

Bob married the love of his life, Kristina Facchina, in 1997. They have two sons, Zachary and Gavin, whom Bob was extremely proud of. Bob loved fishing and was an avid hunter, a sport he enjoyed sharing with his sons. He loved spending time with his family, and left them with numerous stories and memories. Bob enjoyed his yearly fishing trips to Canada, family vacations to Myrtle Beach, South Carolina and attending his sons’ sports activities.

Bob was a member of the Elwood Sportsman Club for which he organized the annual children’s fishing derby.

Bob loved life. If you met him, you remember him – his quick wit, his smile, his generosity. He embraced life and enjoyed making people laugh.

Bob leaves behind his loving wife, Kristina; his adored sons, Zachary and Gavin; his parents, John and Joanne Corcoran (Joliet); sister Carol (Andy) Gnehm (East Peoria); brother and sister-in-law, Gina and Matt Mantia; nephews, Mitch Gnehm and Gage Mantia; nieces, Gillian Mantia and Sondra Gnehm; and in-laws Ken and Sue Facchina (Elwood); as well as many, many friends.

In lieu of flowers, contributions to the family would be greatly appreciated.

Funeral Services for Robert will begin on Monday, April 20, 2015 with prayers in the funeral home chapel at 9:00 a.m. then driving in procession to St. Joseph Catholic Church in Manhattan (255 W. North St., Manhattan, IL) for a Mass of Christian Burial to be held at 10:00 a.m.

Memorial Visitation will be Sunday from 2:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. at Tezak Funeral Home, 1211 Plainfield Rd, Joliet 60435
