Robert F. Cambic ""Bob"" At rest Tuesday, February 17, 2009 at Joliet Area Hospice Home. Survived by his beloved wife of sixty one years Lorraine M. (nee Galass) Cambic, loving grandfather of Marcus and Dr. Christopher(Angie) Cambic, God father of niece Kathy (Bob) Hotuyec, one nephew Tim (Mary) O"Connor, brother and sister-in-law Dick and Barb O"Connor also survived by numerous cousins and friends. Preceded in death by his son Robert C. Cambic (1996), parents Frank J. and Margaret O. (nee Haubensak) Cambic. Robert was born in Joliet and resided in Crest Hill most of his lifetime. Retired 1982 as a Blacksmith Foreman at E.J.E. Railroad after 35 years of service, was a U.S. Army Veteran and received four overseas service bars the Asia-Pacific Theater Ribbon, two Bronze Battle Stars, Bronze Arrowhead Philippine Liberation Ribbon, one Bronze Star Good Conduct Medal, Bronze Star Go 346HQ37 Infantry Division 45 World War II Victory Medal. He was a member of Cantigny Post VFW # 367, Crest Hill Police Pension Board and former member of Crest Hill Lions. Special thanks to the Joliet Area Community Hospice Home and Lakewood Nursing Home.
Prayer services will be held at the funeral home on Friday morning at 9:30 AM then to St. Ambrose Catholic Church of Crest Hill for a Mass of Christian Burial to be Celebrated at 10:00 AM Interment Woodlawn Cemetery Visitation will be Thursday from 2 to 8:00 PM
