Robert B. “Bob” Bailey, age 69, entered into eternal life on Tuesday, December 29, 2015 surrounded by his loving family.
Robert is survived by his wife of 48 years, Joanne (nee Jankowski); children, Patrick (Kim) Bailey, Greta (Todd) Erbs, and Rob (Kellie) Bailey; grandchildren Drew, Jack, Will, and Thomas Bailey, Alex, Emily, and Natalie Erbs, Abbey, Alyssa, and Adam Bailey; brother, Charles (Jean) Bailey; brothers-in-law, Rollie Mudron and Tony (Therese) Marino; as well as numerous nieces, nephews, and cousins.
Preceded in death by his parents, Charles and Margaret (nee Komar) Bailey.
Bob loved being a husband, dad, and grandpa. He was an avid golfer, fisherman, and lifelong Cubs fan. He was a Purple Heart Veteran of the U.S. Marine Corps during Vietnam. Bob earned his pilot’s license in 1989. Bob was co-owner and operator of Joliet United Auto for over 30 years along with his brother, Charlie. His spirit lives on in all of us.
A Celebration of Bob’s life will begin on Tuesday, January 5, 2016 with prayers in the funeral home chapel at 9:30 a.m. then driving in procession to the Cathedral of St. Raymond Nonnatus for a Mass of Christian Burial to be held at 10:00 a.m. Interment of cremated remains to follow at Abraham Lincoln National Cemetery with full military honors. Visitation will be on Monday, January 4, 2016 at Tezak Funeral Home, 1211 Plainfield Road, Joliet from 3:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. Cantigny Post 367 VFW service at 6 p.m.
