Age 87, at rest Sunday September 20, 2009 at the Joliet Hospice Home. Rita was born in Joliet and a life long resident. She retired from the Joliet TWP Assessors Office. Survived by one sister Mary Fran (late Elmo) Petro, two nephews Nick (Leah) and Alan (Sarah) Petro, five nieces Janet (Bob) Hewlett, Meg (Paul) Studer, Kristi (Scott) Niedzwiecki, Michelle Gleason, Patricia Gleason, numerous great nieces and nephews and cousins. Preceded in death by her parents John and Margaret (nee McCarthy) Gleason, one brother James ""Babe"" (Nancy) Gleason.
Prayer services will be held at the funeral home on Saturday September 26,2009 11:00 AM then to St. Mary Nativity Church for a Mass of Christian Burial to be Celebrated at 11:30 AM Interment Mt. Olivet Cemetery Visitation will be Saturday morning at the funeral home from 9 AM until time of services.
