Rita R. (Hazer) Book

Rita R. (nee Hazer) Book, born and raised in Joliet, passed away on Thursday, December 29, 2017 with her loving family by her side.
Rita is survived by her daughter, Beth Ann (Ted) Matichak; son, David H. Book; grandson, Andrew Lee Matichak; sister; as well as numerous nieces, nephews and cousins.
Preceded in death by her husband, LeRoy H. Book; parents, George and Ann (nee Videtich) Hazer; brother; father and mother-in-law, Nelson and Mary (nee Kaveny) Book.
Rita was a parishioner of St. Anne Catholic Church in Crest Hill. She was a loving and caring mother who will be truly missed.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations in Rita’s name to the American Heart Association, American Cancer Society, American Lung Association or Joliet Area Community Hospice Home would be appreciated.
A celebration of Rita’s life will begin on Wednesday, January 3, 2018 with prayers in the funeral home chapel at 10:20 a.m. then driving in procession to St. Anne Catholic Church in Crest Hill for a Mass of Christian Burial to be held at 11:00 a.m. Interment will be held privately. Visitation will be on Tuesday, January 2, 2018 at Tezak Funeral Home, 1211 Plainfield Road, Joliet from 4:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m.
