Ricky Allen Svec

Ricky Allen Svec, age 60, passed away peacefully on Saturday, August 12, 2017 at Riverside Medical Center with his loving family by his side.

Ricky is survived by his loving wife, Cindy Svec; sons, Dustin Svec, Michael (Melisa) Rehbock and Nicholas (Jessica) Rehbock; 11 grandchildren, father, Ronald Svec Sr.; siblings, Ron(Sandra) Svec Jr., Constance (Stan) Rushing, Cynthia (Joe) Winchell, Russell (Larry) Svec; numerous nieces, nephews, great-nieces, great-nephews, and many friends also survive.

Preceded in death by his mother, Marylin Svec.

Ricky was born in Chicago, IL. He and his family later migrated to Oak Lawn. Ricky was a proud veteran of the United States Navy joining in 1974. He married his wife Cindy in 1995 where they raised three sons together. He was a dedicated father and enjoyed coaching football, baseball and wrestling. He was an avid sports fan and loved the Chicago Cubs. Ricky worked for the Kankakee United States Post Office for many years. He enjoyed having cookouts, partying, but most of all life on the lake. Ricky also enjoyed fishing and boating. He had many friends and will be dearly missed by all who knew him.

In lieu of flowers, donations to the family would be appreciated.

A celebration of Ricky’s life will begin with a visitation on Wednesday, August 16, 2017 from 3:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. A funeral service will be held in the funeral home chapel on Wednesday, August 16, 2017 at 7:00 p.m. at Tezak Funeral Home 1211 Plainfield Road, Joliet, IL. Interment to follow on Thursday August 17, 2017 at 10:30 a.m. at Abraham Lincoln National Cemetery where full military honors will be conducted.  Family and friends are to gather at 10:15 a.m. at the cemetery on Thursday, August 17, 2017.
