Richard J. Zajda
November 30, 1935 — December 2, 2016
Richard J. Zajda, age 81, entered into eternal life on Friday, December 2, 2016 surrounded by his loving family.
Richard is survived by his beloved wife of 59 years, Donna (nee Rasmussen); loving daughter, Cynthia (Michael) Moudry; loving son, Robert (Christine) Zajda; cherished grandchildren, Stephen (Katherine) and Melissa Moudry, Nicholas, Amy, and Alexis Zajda; cherished great-grandchildren, Laurel and Linden Moudry; dear brothers, Karl (Marge), John (Jean Zoellner), and Jim (Dale) Zajda; as well as numerous nieces and nephews.
Preceded in death by his parents, John and Bernice (nee Lonas) Zajda.
Richard served proudly in the United States Army. He retired from Lucent Technologies after 30 years of service. He was an active parishioner at St. Andrew the Apostle Church in Romeoville. Richard cherished his wife, family, and friends. He will be greatly missed.
A Celebration of Richard’s life will begin on Tuesday, December 6, 2016 with a visitation from 10:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. then driving in procession to Resurrection Cemetery in Romeoville for a committal service. Per Richard’s wishes, cremation rites have been accorded.
