Richard C. Tucci, age 94 of Joliet, passed away peacefully at home on Saturday, August 3, 2024.
Born April 23, 1930 in Joliet, Richard was the son of Samuel and Justine (Hirsch) Tucci. He was raised and educated in Joliet and graduated from Joliet Catholic High with the class of 1948. On September 14, 1957, Richard married Jeanette Babich at St. Joseph Catholic Church. Together Rich & Jeanette made a home and raised their family. Rich worked for Meadow Gold Dairy as a milkman for most of his career. He also worked for Troy School District as a bus driver and in maintenance until retiring. Early on, he worked with his father at the Texaco gas station at Broadway & Ruby in Joliet. Rich served in the United States Army in the Korean War. He was a 73-year member of Joliet Rivals Club, and a member of Cantigny Post #367. He was an avid Chicago White Sox, Green Bay Packer, and PGA Tour fan. Rich enjoyed taking road trips with his family.
Rich is survived by his children: Karen (John) Reigh, Richard (Mary) Tucci, David Tucci, and Jayne (Jeff) Skibinski; grandchildren: Nicholas Reigh, Shannon (Coty) Reigh, Amanda Tucci, Scott Tucci, and Mia Tucci; great grandchild: Vivian Reigh; sister: Sr. Janet Tucci; brother: Russell Tucci; sister-in-law: Shirley (the late Sam) Tucci; brother-in-law: Joseph (the late Mary) Babich, and numerous nieces, nephews, and cousins.
He is preceded in death by his wife of 63 years, Jeanette; his parents: Samuel and Justine; sister: Norma Tucci; brother: Kenneth (Gloria) Tucci and Samuel Tucci; nephew: Daniel Tucci; brother-in-law: Robert Babich; sister-in-law: Mary Babich.
Family will receive relatives and friends on Friday, August 9, 2024 from 4:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. at Tezak Funeral Home, 1211 Plainfield Road in Joliet.
Family and friends are invited to meet at the funeral home at 9:00 am before departing in procession for a mass of Christian burial to held on Saturday, August 10, 2024 at 10:00 a.m. at St. Joseph Catholic Church, 416 N. Chicago St, Joliet, IL with interment to follow at Resurrection Cemetery in Romeoville.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made as gifts in Richard's memory to Joliet Area Community Hospice.
