It is with great sadness and much love that the Family of Richard J Sepeda 69 of Joliet Illinois, announces his peaceful passing on July 15, 2022. Surrounded by his loving wife Brenda and son Elian.
A dedicated musician loving to play all varieties of instruments. Beginning with trumpet and bass.
Richie was well known for the left-handed bass player he was.
After years of playing with a Rock ‘N’ Roll rhythm and blues band, Richie became the lead vocalist to Destino band. He played an assisted many other Tejano band through the years. He moved to Chicago Heights in 1994 after marrying the love of his life Brenda Sepeda with whom he shared 29 beautiful years of long lasting love to the very end. Richie worked for Navistar for many years. Richie enjoyed performing and dancing. He loved attending music festivals with his wife Brenda. Living life to the fullest traveling going to family and friends functions. Richie was the kindest soul he was always willing to give a helping hand to whom ever needed it.
Richie will forever be known for his powerful voice and his infamous catch phrase (let’s go to Texas y’all) his loving laugh his warm hugs and a contagious smile. Richie was loved by so many and will truly be missed.
A dedicated husband and father to his his loving wife; Brenda Sepeda .and children; Nicholas (Lesly) Sepeda, Elian E. Sepeda , Stepdaughter; Lorena N Gonzalez, Sons;Ricardo Sepeda, David (Naomi) Sepeda , Eduardo (Andrea) Sepeda. Brother; Reynaldo (Dora) Sepeda Niece Yvette Sepeda.
Grandchildren; Estefan J Sepeda, Amia Rae Gonzalez, Royal Gonzalez, Olivia Sepeda and Manolo Sepeda
Goddaughter’s; Esperanza, Gianna, Aubreanna, Nina, Lilliana, Rosalinda, Cherish, Olivia
as well as many Nieces and nephews and cousins.
Visitation will be held from 4:00 P.M. to 8:00 P.M. on Wednesday, July 27, 2022 at Tezak Funeral Home.
Visitation will continue from 9:00 A.M. to the funeral hour which will begin at 10:00 A.M. at St. Agnes Catholic Church, 1501 Chicago Rd., Chicago Heights, IL with burial to follow at Assumption Catholic Cemetery, 19500 S Cottage Grove Ave, Glenwood, IL
