Richard A. George, Age 67, at rest on Tuesday, June 3, 2014 with his loving family by his side.
Richard is survived by his beloved wife of 35 years, Mary Kay George (nee Zdralevich); loving son Ryan George; loving step-children, Rebecca (Kenneth) Velasquez and Matthew (Barbara) Aharrah; cherished grandchildren, Logan, Melissa, Hayley, Jacob, Cameron, and Madison; and nephew, Robert George.
Preceded in death by his parents, Clyde and Agnes (nee Anderson) George; and brother, Robert George.
Richard retired from Stateville in 1999 where he worked as a correctional officer for over 30 years. He loved cars, motorcycles, and horseback riding. Richard was a devoted husband, father, and grandfather. He will be greatly missed by his family and friends.
A celebration of Richard's life will begin on Friday, June 6, 2014 with a visitation from 4:00 p.m. 8:00 p.m. in the funeral home chapel. A chapel service will be held at 7:30 p.m. at Tezak Funeral Home, 1211 Plainfield Rd, Joliet, IL 60435. Per Richard's wishes, cremation rites will be accorded.
