Richard M. Farkas

Richard M. Farkas, age 65, passed away unexpectedly on Saturday, September 29, 2018, at Presence St. Joseph Medical Center.

Richard is survived by his devoted wife of 39 years, Lisa M. (née Brunner) Farkas; and son, Christopher M. (Bianca J. née Mayo) Farkas.

Preceded in death by his loving parents, George R. and Delores M. (née Rakowski) Farkas; brother, Russell M. Farkas; and son, Kevin M. Farkas.

Richard was born on March 30, 1953.  A lifelong Joliet resident, he enjoyed being outdoors and sharing his knowledge, wisdom, and friendship with others.  He was a member of Irving A.C. for many years.  He worked for New Lenox School District for 22 years and most recently Schneider Logistics for 7 years.  His retirement was spent working in his yard, drowning a few nightcrawlers, and watching NASCAR.  Rich attended Reedswood School and was a 1971 graduate of Joliet West High School. He will be dearly missed by all who knew him.

A celebration of Richard’s life will begin on Thursday, October 4, 2018 with a visitation at Tezak Funeral Home, 1211 Plainfield Road, Joliet from 4:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. Funeral services to be held at 10:00 a.m. on Friday, October 5, 2018, at Tezak’s Home to Celebrate Life, 1211 Plainfield Road, Joliet, IL. Interment to follow at Woodlawn Memorial Park in Joliet, IL.
