Richard E. Bluth
Age 93 of Joliet, passed away peacefully on Tuesday, October 18, 2022 at Lightways Hospice with his family by his side.
Born September 1, 1929 in Joliet, he was a son of Anthony Bluth and Anne (Simonic) Bluth.
Richard graduated from Lockport High School with the class of 1947.
He proudly served in the U.S. Navy with the USS Los Angeles CA 135, from 1950 to 1954 during the Korean War.
He worked at CPC International as a Specialist in Analytical & Quality Support for 45 years.
On September 7, 1957 he married the love of his life, Betty K. (Kinder) Bluth. They were married for 64 years before her passing on October 19, 2021. They will now be together again for eternity.
He was very proud of his family, and loved being surrounded to the fullest with his three children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
He is survived by his loving children: Leonard (Margaret) Bluth, Joyce (Luke) Branchaw and Kathy (Bob) Vanderhyden; grandchildren: John (Brigid) Bluth, Robert Bluth, Nicolette (Jeff) Kassl, Chrissy Vanderhyden-Ellis, Nathan (Erin) Branchaw, Matt (Yesenia) Branchaw and Andrew (fiance: Caitlyn Levine) Branchaw; adoring great-grandchildren: Annaliese Bluth, Kason Bluth and Hayden Kassl.
Richard is preceded in death by his wife: Betty (Kinder) Bluth; parents: Anthony Bluth and Anne (Simonic) Bluth; brother: Robert Bluth and great-grandson: Gavin Kassl.
Per Richard’s wishes, cremation rites have been accorded.
Services will be held privately and Richard will be laid to rest at Abraham Lincoln National Cemetery where he will receive full military honors in recognition of his faithful service to his country.
