Richard A. Craig, age 85, passed away peacefully on Thursday, June 15, 2017 with his loving family by his side.

Richard is survived by his loving wife of 65 years, Willetta (nee Roberts) Craig; children, Jeff (Sandy) Craig, Dave (Judy) Craig, Bob (Kristy) Craig, Randy (Denise Fisk) Craig, Cathy (Darle) Olson, Loretta (Gord) Bowman and Barbara (Joel) Pejkovich; grandchildren, Neil (Melissa) Craig, Kimberly Craig, Kelley Craig, Nathan (Sara) Olson, Nick (Stephanie) Olson, Brittany (Rob) Herman, Jordan (Tim) Doubek, Wes (Jen) Craig, Michelle (Rob) Stanick, Ryan (Andrea) O’Connell, Sean O’Connell, Mike and Maddy Pejkovich, Greg (Dawn) Webb, Richard (Donna) Craig and Mandy (Jeff) Dalrymple; numerous great-grandchildren; one great-great-granddaughter; two brothers, Larry (Frances) Craig, Bill (Maryellen) Craig; brother-in-law, Norman Beeman; numerous nieces, nephews and cousins.

Preceded in death by his parents, George and Adah Belle (nee Dory) Craig; son, Richard M. Craig (2017); siblings, Irene, Jupe, Dory, Betty and Rodger.

Richard was raised in Missouri and resided in the Channahon area for the past 60 years. He retired as a millwright after 32 years from Caterpillar Corporation. Richard was a multi-talented musician and had a strong passion for music. He also enjoyed drawing and had a very artistic touch.

The family would like to offer a special thank you to the staff at Presence Villa Franciscan, Presence St. Joseph Medical Center, the Visiting Angels (Faith, Tammy, Jeanine and Nadine) and Joliet Area Community Hospice for the wonderful care provided to Richard.

In lieu of flowers, donation in Richard’s name to Joliet Area Community Hospice would be appreciated.

A celebration of Richard’s life will begin on Wednesday, June 21, 2017 with a visitation at the funeral home from 10:00 a.m. until the time of prayers in the chapel at 11:00 a.m. Interment to follow at Abraham Lincoln National Cemetery in Elwood. Visitation will be on Tuesday, June 20, 2017 at Tezak Funeral Home, 1211 Plainfield Road, Joliet from 4:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m.
