It is with great sadness that the Reyes family announce the peaceful passing of Reina Reyes on Thursday, April 28, 2022. Reina was born on September 7, 1950, in Villa Juarez, San Luis Potosi, Mexico.
A loving wife, mother and grandmother. Reina was a woman of great faith and was always content surrounded by her loved ones and will be truly missed by all those who knew her.
Reina is survived by her loving husband of 50 years, Leopoldo Reyes; four children, Maribel (Ruben) Ruiz, Lorena (Ryan Smith) Reyes, Jaime (Edith Diaz) Reyes, Roberto (Rachel Ortiz) Reyes; six grandchildren, Ariana Ruiz, Viviana Reyes, Fabian Ruiz, Julian Castillo, Jocelyn Reyes and Julia Castillo. The family would like to extend a special thank you to her siblings Oliva Izaguirre, Rafael Reyes, and Christopher Reyes.
She is preceded in death by her parents, Cresencio and Filomena (Martinez) Reyes; sister, Maria Julia (Reyes) Martinez, and brother-in-law Juan Izaguirre.
The family will receive relatives and friends for a visitation on Monday, May 9, 2022 from 4:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. at Tezak Funeral Home, 1211 Plainfield Road in Joliet.
A celebration of Reina’s life will continue Tuesday, May 10, 2022 with her mass of christian burial to be held at 10:00 a.m. at the Cathedral of St. Raymond, 604 N Raynor Ave, Joliet, IL. Interment will follow and Reina will be laid to rest at Woodlawn Memorial Park in Joliet.
