Raymond Dean Guinto, Sr.
Age 72 of Joliet, passed away Monday February 29, 2016 at his home.
Born February 2, 1944 in Sherman, TX, Raymond Dean was a son of the late Elpidio B. and Lillian (Anglin) Guinto. He was raised in Romeoville, until moving to Indiana where he graduated from high school in Terre Haute. Ray was a Veteran of the US Army, and honorably served during the Vietnam Era. On July 27, 1967, Ray married Linda Brooks in Kansas City, MO. He retired as a dispatcher for UPS in 1995, after 27 years of service, and was a member of the American Legion. Ray enjoyed camping, fishing and golfing, but will most be remembered for his love of being with family.
Survivors include his wife Linda; children: Dawn (Don) Bonner of Channahon, Denise Kovacevich of Joliet, Dana (Matt) Surges of Plainfield, Raymond, Jr. (Jodi) Guinto of Joliet, Donna (Todd) Bricco of Marseilles, Richard (Colleen) Guinto of Joliet and Patrick Guinto (Jackie Falbo) of Joliet; (24) grandchildren; (4) great grandchildren; four brothers; three sisters and numerous nieces and nephews.
Visitation will be held at Tezak Funeral Home, 1211 Plainfield Road in Joliet on Friday, March 4, 2016 from 9:00 a.m. until time of funeral service 12:00 p.m. Rev. Dr. Roy Backus will officiate and burial with full military honors will follow in Abraham Lincoln National Cemetery.
Preferred memorials may be made in Ray’s memory to his family for their distribution.
