Raymond G. Budzinski, Age 89, passed away peacefully on Sunday, May 25, 2014.
He is survived by his beloved children, Kathleen (Frank) Henriksen, Sandy (Randy) Calcaterra, and Ray (Nancy) Budzinski; grandchildren, Tracy (Tim) Hare, John (Jen) Henkel, Breanne, and Paige Calcaterra, Brian, and Mike Budzinski; great-granddaughter, Ashley Hare; also survived by numerous nieces, nephews, and cousins.
Preceded in death by his beloved wife, Viola (nee Elwood) (August 2, 2013); parents; one brother, George Budzinski; and one sister, Theresa Scheppman.
Raymond retired from Texaco Oil Refinery in Lockport after over 30 years of service. He served in the United States Navy and was a member of the Anti-Submarine Task Group that captured enemy German submarine U-505 off French, West Africa on June 4, 1944. Raymond enjoyed his retirement to the fullest, spending time with his family and grandchildren. They enjoyed countless hours together fishing and spending time at the river. Raymond will be greatly missed by his family and friends.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Raymond's name to a charity or organization of your choice.
The family extends a heartfelt thank you to the doctors who cared for Ramond's health.
A Celebration of Raymond's life will begin with a visitation on Friday, May 30, 2014 from 9:00 a.m. until the time of funeral service to be held at 10:00 a.m. in the funeral home chapel. Interment to follow at Woodlawn Memorial Park in Joliet. Visitation will also be on Thursday, May 29, 2014 from 3:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. at Tezak Funeral Home, 1211 Plainfield Rd, Joliet.
