Raul Arias Guzman lived a fulfilling life until he reached 86 years old. He passed away on Tuesday, January 16, 2024, in Joliet, Illinois. Born on September 16, 1937, in Cepio Moroleon Guanajuato, Mexico, Raul's love for his homeland ran deep. As a farmer, he poured his heart into his land. But it was his own mountains that held a special place in his heart. He often claimed them as his own, finding happiness and joy as he gazed upon their beauty from his very own pastures.

He is preceded in death by his loving wife Marina Ortiz Arias: parents: Lino and Soledad his siblings: Miguel, Rafael, Ignacio, Everardo, Adolfo, Ismael, Consuelo, Hermila and Jovita.

Left to cherish his memory are his children: Maricela (Rodrigo) Perez, Heriberto (Elizabeth) Arias, Alfredo (Nora Angelica) Arias, Maria Esther (Rafa) Rodriguez, Raul Jr. (Lisa) Arias as well as her grandchildren: Marina (Graciano) Zamudio, Leo, Rodrigo Jr. (Haley) Perez, Ronaldo (Maria Soledad), Magdalena, Fatima Rodriguez, Liliana (Justin) Girardot, Raul III (Maria), Sebastian (Jasmin) and Lizbeth (Jaime) Arias: great grandchildren: Antonio Wallace, Melani and Aranea Perez, Arianna, Alexandra and Arlette Arias, D’Angelo and Catalina Calderon and Lorenzo Arias. He is also survived by his siblings: Lino, Belen, Celina and Jorge.

Visitation will be held on Tuesday, January 23,2024 from 2:00 pm to 8:00 pm at Tezak Funeral Home, 1211 Plainfield Rd, Joliet, IL.

Funeral services will be held in Mexico with burial at Panteon De Cepio in Moroleon GTO, Mexico.


Raúl Arias Guzmán vivió una vida plena hasta que alcanzó los 86 años. Falleció el martes 16 de enero de 2024, en Joliet, Illinois. Nacido el 16 de septiembre de 1937, en Cepio Moroleón Guanajuato, México, Raúl tenía un profundo amor por su tierra natal. Como agricultor, entregó su corazón a su tierra. Pero fueron sus propias montañas las que ocuparon un lugar especial en su corazón. A menudo las consideraba como suyas, encontrando felicidad y alegría al contemplar su belleza desde sus propios pastizales.

Le precedieron en la muerte su amada esposa Marina Ortiz Arias; sus padres: Lino y Soledad; sus hermanos: Miguel, Rafael, Ignacio, Everardo, Adolfo, Ismael, Consuelo, Hermila y Jovita.

A quienes quedan para atesorar su memoria son sus hijos: Maricela (Rodrigo) Pérez, Heriberto (Elizabeth) Arias, Alfredo (Nora Angélica) Arias, María Esther (Rafa) Rodríguez, Raúl Jr. (Lisa) Arias, así como sus nietos: Marina (Graciano) Leo, Rodrigo Jr. (Haley) Pérez, Ronaldo (María Soledad), Magdalena, Fátima Rodríguez, Liliana (Justin) Girardot, Raúl III (María), Sebastián (Jasmin) y Lizbeth (Jaime) Arias; bisnietos: Antonio Wallace, Melani y Aranea Pérez, Arianna, Alexandra y Arlette Arias, D'Angelo y Catalina Calderón, y Lorenzo Arias. También le sobreviven sus hermanos: Lino, Belén, Celina y Jorge.

La visita se llevará a cabo el martes 23 de enero de 2024, de 2:00 pm a 8:00 pm en la Funeraria Tezak, 1211 Plainfield Rd, Joliet, IL.

Los servicios fúnebres se llevarán a cabo en México con el entierro en el Panteón De Cepio en Moroleón GTO, México.
