Ralph P. Mascote Jr.
64 | July 8, 1960 – March 30, 2025
It is with deep sadness that we announce the passing of Ralph Mascote Jr. on March 30, 2025 at his home, surrounded by his loving granddaughter, Lillianna, and his son, Shawn. He was 64 years old and lived a life full of laughter, love, and unforgettable moments.
Born in Joliet, Illinois, Ralph lived his life with one guiding philosophy: “We’re here for a good time, not a long time.” And he certainly made the most of every moment. Whether he was surrounded by family, sharing stories over a cold drink, or making everyone laugh with his quick wit, he had a way of bringing joy to those around him.
He worked as a fuel handler at Exelon Nuclear, where he took great pride in his hard work and the friendships he built along the way. But beyond his job, he was known for his love of working out, going on bike rides, and lifting weights. He had an unmatched energy and passion for staying active, always pushing himself and inspiring others to do the same.
He is lovingly remembered by his son, Shawn; his granddaughter, Lillianna; his sisters; his brothers; and all who were fortunate enough to know him.
A memorial service will be held on April 4th, 2025 at 3:00pm at Tezak’s Home To Celebrate Life in Joliet, Illinois.
Ralph lived his life with strength, laughter, and a spirit of adventure. He believed in working hard, enjoying life, and never taking a single day for granted. Whether he was out on a bike ride, lifting weights, or just sharing a good laugh, he brought energy and warmth wherever he went.
His oldest sister, Gloria, is heartbroken by his passing. Gloria was his lifeline—she took him to every chemotherapy appointment, was there for whatever he needed, whenever he needed it, and supported him with unwavering love and care. Their bond was one of love, loyalty, and countless cherished memories, and she remained by his side until the very end.
His love, wisdom, and unforgettable sense of humor will live on in the hearts of those who knew him. Though his time with us feels too short, he’d want us to keep smiling, stay strong, and always make time for the good times. He will be deeply missed but never forgotten.
A celebration of Ralph's life will be held on Friday, April 4, 2025 with a memorial visitation at Tezak Funeral Home, 1211 Plainfield Road, Joliet from 3:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. A prayer service will be held during the memorial visitation at 6:00 p.m. Per Ralph's wishes cremation rites have been accorded.
