Raful Garcia, age 55, passed away peacefully watching his favorite movie, The Godfather, with his loving family by his side on Thursday, December 7, 2017.
Raful is survived by his children, Alina (Bharat) Garcia, Daniel (Shannon) Garcia; parents, Jesus and Leonor (nee Sanchez) Garcia; siblings, Bernardo, Rigoberto, Antonia and Miguel Garcia; numerous cousins, aunts, uncles and godchildren; faithful furry companion, Sadie; and grand dogs, Honey and Dog.
Preceded in death by his beloved wife, Delia (nee Borrego) Garcia (2015); brothers, Jesus Jr. and Edwardo Garcia; father-in-law, Francisco Borrego Sr.
Raful was a loving father of two and a devoted family man. He was raised in Tilzapotla, Morelos, Mexico and moved to the U.S.A with his father and older brothers to learn a trade, work, and support the remainder of his family in Mexico. He met his wife, Delia, dancing at the Aragon Ballroom in Chicago and since then, they were known as the couple who cleared the dance floor. Always a quiet, observant, and gentle soul, Raful loved the outdoors especially riding horses, gardening, and taking long walks with his faithful furry companion, Sadie, the family Chocolate Labrador.

The family invites relatives and friends to gather at St. Joseph Catholic Church in Joliet on Monday, December 11, 2017 for a Mass of Christian Burial to be celebrated at 11:00 a.m. Interment will follow at St. Joseph Cemetery. Per Raful’s wishes cremation rites have been accorded.
There will be no funeral home visitation or services.
