Pauline V. Cemeno
“Polly”
Age 92 of Joliet, passed away peacefully on Tuesday, February 15, 2022 at her son’s home with family by her side.
Born November 5, 1929 in Joliet, Polly was a daughter of Bill and Rose (Metille) Werner, and was raised and educated in the Joliet area. Polly was a devout Catholic and in her later years worked as an administrative assistant for St. Mary Magdalene Catholic Church and for her friend Fr. Dan. Her primary role was homemaker and support system for her husband of 72 years, Thomas Cemeno, who served as president and co-owner of the Chellino Cheese Company. As the saying goes, “behind every good man is an even greater woman”. Polly was an avid reader and participated in numerous book clubs. She also enjoyed going bowling with friends in her younger years. Polly will certainly be missed by all who knew her.
She is survived by her son: William (Arlyds) Cemeno; four grandchildren, and numerous nieces, nephews and cousins.
Polly is preceded in death by her parents: Bill and Rose; her beloved husband: Thomas; brother: William Metille and sister: Leona Metille.
Family will received relatives and friends for a visitation on Saturday, February 19, 2022 from 9:00 a.m until time of funeral service beginning at 10:30 a.m. at Tezak Funeral Home, 1211 Plainfield Road in Joliet. Interment will follow and Polly with be laid to rest next to Thomas at Mt. Olivet Catholic Cemetery in Joliet.
