Phyllis B. Benco (nee Plese), age 89, peacefully on Wednesday, February 8, 2017.
Phyllis is survived by her loving children, Sandy (John) Heck and Ken (Sherry) Benco; granddaughter, Julie L. Pehlke; great-grandchildren, Jack, Cole and Grace Pehlke; brother, John (Marilyn) Plese; sister-in-law, Eileen (the late Eugene) Plese; numerous, nieces, nephews and cousins.
Preceded in death by her husband of 57 years, Bernard B. Benco; parents, John and Julia (nee Tomac) Plese; brother, Eugene Plese; and special niece, Kathy Plese.
Phyllis was born and raised in Joliet and became a devoted wife at an early age. She was an outstanding homemaker all of her life who always put her family first. She was the perfect mother, grandmother and GiGi. She loved fashion, especially clothing and jewelry. Phyllis will be truly missed.
In lieu of flowers, having a Mass said in Phyllis’ name would be greatly appreciated.
A celebration of Phyllis’ life will begin on Tuesday, February 14, 2017 with prayers in the funeral home chapel at 10:30 a.m. then driving in procession to St. Anne Catholic Church in Crest Hill for a Mass of Christian Burial to be held at 11:00 a.m. Entombment to follow at Woodlawn Memorial Park in Joliet. Visitation will be on Monday, February 13, 2017 at Tezak Funeral Home, 1211 Plainfield Road, Joliet from 4:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m.
