Philip John Lavazza

Philip J. Lavazza, age 89, at rest December 21, 2011. Survived by his 2 children Theresa (James) Benton and Joseph (Renee) Lavazza; 4 grandchildren Jennifer Benton, Janine (Jason) Simon, Kevin and Keith Lavazza; sisters-in-law Mary Theresa, Delores and Betty Lavazza, Shirley nee Foschi (the late Richard) Lilek, Phyllis nee Foschi (George) Comerford; brother-in-law Alfred Foschi. He is also survived by numerous nieces, nephews, cousins and cherished friends.
Preceded in death by his wife of 56 years Marie V. Lavazzo (nee Foschi); his parents Ambrose and Onesta (nee Aiazzi) Lavazza and his siblings George, Francis A�??BabeA�?i��, and J.R. Lavazza; sister-in-law Millie Hays (nee Foschi), and brothers-in-law Joseph Foschi and Edward Foschi.
Philip was a veteran of the U.S. Navy serving his country during WWII. He served on the U.S.S. Harding from 1942 to 1945, and he was also involved in the invasion of Normandy in 1944.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made in his memory to Joliet Area Community Hospice or to Friends of Sunny Hill.
Private funeral services will be held on Wednesday, December 28, 2011. Interment Abraham Lincoln National Cemetery, Elwood, Illinois.
