Peter R. Marino Jr., age 69, at rest on Sunday, September 3, 2017.
Peter is survived by his sisters, Sharon K. (Ron) Evans and Hope A. Kinney; aunts, Gloria Martin, Viola (the late Frank) Marino; Uncle, Robert (Margaret) Marino; daughter, Denise Marino; numerous nieces, nephews and cousins.
Preceded in death by his parents, Peter and Erma (nee Santolin) Marino; brother, Mario Joseph Marino; and niece, Deborah Evans.
Peter was a proud United States Army Veteran, serving during the Vietnam War, in the Combat Engineers 101st Airborne. He was a member of the Bricklayers Union Local 21, the Stone City VFW Post #2199 and the American Legion Post #1080.
The family would like to offer a special thank you to Beverly, Sue and Dr. Kumar at Presence Cancer Care Center in Joliet and Nurse Debra and Social Worker Melissa from Rainbow Hospice for the wonderful care provided to Peter.
Donations to the funeral home for burial expense would be appreciated.
A celebration of Peter’s life will begin on Tuesday, September 12, 2017 with a visitation from 10:00 a.m. until the time of service in the funeral home chapel at 10:30 a.m. Interment to follow at Abraham Lincoln National Cemetery in Elwood, full Military Honors will be rendered. Visitation will be on Monday, September 11, 2017 at Tezak Funeral Home, 1211 Plainfield Road, Joliet from 4:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m.
