Penny E. Kalamaras-Ketz Nee Piekarski Age 58
Penny Ellen Kalamaras-Ketz, age 58 of Joliet, IL passed away suddenly Thursday morning, November 11th, 2010 at Provena Saint Joseph Medical Center following a tragic accident. She was born on June 23, 1952 in Villa Park, IL; daughter of Henry and Mary Piekarksi (nee Firak). Penny was united in marriage to Alexander P. Kalamaras in 1980, and they spent 17 years together before his death on April 12, 1997. Love found her again, as she was married to James Ketz on January 6th, 2010 in Ocho Rios, Jamaica. She was looking forward to celebrating their marriage reception on Saturday, November 13th, 2010 with family and friends. Penny was an active member of the All-Saints Greek Orthodox Church and was a fanatic of the Daughters of Penelope Organization. She graduated in the class of 1970 from Willowbrook High School and received her Bachelor"s degree from North Central College in Naperville, IL. In her early years, she was a professional singer and talented performer in the Chicagoland area. Later, she became the Vice-President of a local staffing agency in Joliet; First Staff Services, Inc. She was a wonderful, selfless woman who enjoyed spending time with her family, relaxing on the waters of Kentucky Lake, and giving to those who were in need. She is survived by her husband James Ketz of Crest Hill, IL, and three children: Stephanie (Steve) Ciesiun, 25, of Lawton, OK; Alexander Kalamaras, 23, and William Kalamaras, 21; both of Joliet, IL. She is also survived by her brother Douglas Piekarski, God-son John Tarrant, pets Ellie and Blaze, and numerous wonderful in-laws, cousins, nephews, and nieces. Penny was preceded in death by her parents Henry and Mary Piekarski, and her first husband Alexander P. Kalamaras. A Celebration of life will be held on Monday, November 15th, 2010, with prayers at the funeral home beginning at 9:30 AM, then in procession to All Saints Greek Orthodox Church at 10 AM. Interment will be at Holy Cross Cemetery. Visitations will be Sunday, November 14th, 2010 from 2:00 ""A�?? 8:00 PM, Trisagion service will commence at 6:30 PM at Tezak's Home to Celebrate Life.
