Paul Marvin Siron
Age 81, passed away Monday, March 22, 2010 in Sun City, AZ. Survived by his daughters Jane (Ron Esco) Siron, Liz (Tim Costa) Siron, and Paulette (David) Velazquez; grandchildren Nastassia, Olivia and Gabriella Velazquez, Nicholas and Katie Costa; sister, Lois (Rick) Arends; also numerous in-laws, nieces and nephews. Preceded in death by his wife of 40 years Catherine (Baloy) Siron; daughter Paula Marie; parents Floyd and Litta (Breese) Siron; brothers Harold (Verneil) Siron, Keith (Lil) Siron, Richard (Doris) Siron; sisters Irene (Robert) Martin, Nan (Roger) Nelson.
Born on July 2, 1928 in Lexington, IL, Paul attended Lexington High School and Illinois State University. He was an educator at Joliet Central High School for 35 years, where he retired in 1988. He wintered in Sun City West, AZ since 1997, where he played golf and enjoyed spending time with his friends playing pool at the Moose Lodge in Peoria, AZ. A Korean War veteran, he was a member of the Veterans of Foreign Wars Stone City Post #2199, the American Legion Post #1080, as well as a member of the Joliet Moose Lodge. He was a gifted athlete and an avid sports fan. He played minor league baseball for the Chicago White Sox, and was the former assistant coach and later head coach for the Joliet Junior College basketball team.
A Celebration of Paul"s Life will begin with a visitation at the funeral home on Wednesday March 31, 2010 from 2 to 8PM, Prayer service at 7PM. Cremation rites will be accorded following the visitation. Funeral services will be on Thursday April 1, 2010 at the funeral home at 11AM Inurnment Woodlawn Cemetery
