Paul J. Sarcletti, age 74, went home to be with his Father to receive his heavenly reward on Sunday, December 6, 2020 with his loving family by his side.
Paul is survived by his loving wife of 49 years, Jeanne (nee Getson) Sarcletti; children, Christopher P. (Ivy) Sarcletti, Jenny (Corey) McQuade; five grandchildren, Hugo Sarcletti, Christian, Landon, Grayson and Kamden McQuade; siblings, Irene (the late Dick) Selinger, Jeanette (Richard) Crandall, Robert (Patricia) Sarcletti and Mary (Corky) Robbins; mother-in-law, Genevieve (the late William) Getson; and sister-in-law, Diane (Dave) Picco; numerous nieces, nephews, cousins and friends, in particularly, Ron Ruth.
Paul is preceded in death by his parents, Silvio and Caroline (nee Franch) Sarcletti; and father-in-law, William Getson and brother-in-law, Dick Selinger.
Paul was a proud Vietnam Veteran, stationed in Pleiku, Vietnam and returned home in June of 1969. He completed a very successful career at Commonwealth Edison, wearing many different hats during his stay, and retired after 30 years of dedicated service. During his retirement, Paul focused his efforts on three very important things; his family, spending as much time as possible with his wife, children, grandchildren and siblings; gardening, making sure his own as well as his children’s gardens and yards were in the best shape possible; and finally, volunteer work, Paul spent 7 years volunteering at Meals on Wheels and Joliet Area Community Hospice. He was a loving servant leader committed to God’s work and always aspired to set a good example for his friends and family. He looked to put the needs of others before those of his own and will be dearly missed.
In lieu of flowers, donations in Paul’s name to Vietnam Veterans of America or Joliet Area Community Hospice would be appreciated.
Per Paul's wishes cremation rites have been accorded.
A celebration of Paul’s life will be held on Thursday, June 3, 2021 with a memorial visitation at Tezak Funeral Home, 1211 Plainfield Road, Joliet from 5:00 pm. to 8:00 p.m. Interment will be held privately at Abraham Lincoln National Cemetery in Elwood.
