Paul F. Lucas, age 77, entered into the kingdom of Heaven on Saturday, April 26, 2014 surrounded by his loving family.
Paul is survived by his loving nephews, Larry (Melissa) Lucas, Matt (fiancA�AC. Sarah Kranz) Lucas; sister-in-law, Donna (the late Larry) Lucas; and great-nephews, Mitchell and Logan Lucas. Numerous cousins also survive.
Preceded in death by his parents, Francis "Tuffy" and Helen (nee Yurkovich) Lucas.
Paul was born and raised in Rockdale, IL and graduated from Lewis University. He then went on to begin and end his career at Joliet Central High School as a chemistry and mathematics teacher. Paul was a lifelong parishioner at St. Joseph Catholic Church in Rockdale. He enjoyed traveling, no matter where the destination was, and going on vacation to his house in Wisconsin. Paul was a fireworks fanatic and was a World War II enthusiast. He touched many lives and will be truly missed.
The family would like to offer a special thank you to Joliet Area Community Hospice for the wonderful comfort and care that they provided to Paul.
A celebration of Paul's life will begin on Saturday, May 3, 2014 with prayers in the funeral home chapel at 9:20 a.m. then driving in procession to St. Joseph Catholic Church in Rockdale for a Mass of Christian Burial to be celebrated at 10:00 a.m. Per Paul's wishes cremation rites will be accorded. Inurnment will be held privately at Resurrection Cemetery in Romeoville at a later date. Visitation will be on Friday, May 2, 2014 at Tezak Funeral Home, 1211 Plainfield Road, Joliet from 4-8 p.m.
