Patricia Louise (Brulc) Rolih went home to our Lord on Wednesday, June 7, 2023. Born January 15, 1931, to Louis and Angelina (Lusciatti) Brulc in Joliet, IL. She attended St. Joseph Catholic School, Saint Francis High School and the College of St. Francis. She received her Bachelor of Science Degree in 1953 and went on to work at the Arsenal, Argon Labs and Salerno Cookie Facility. Founding member of a small ladies’ social club the BBBs (Beautiful, Brainy, Bachelorettes) who enjoyed numerous adventures, laughter and hours of card playing. In 1955 she met the man she would spend her life with, Frank K. Rolih who preceded her in death in 2008. They were married in 1956 and raised four children in their brick house on Whitney Ave. That home was the site of years of wonderful holidays, parties and relaxing days on the big front porch. She was a member of St. Raymond’s Catholic Church in Joliet where she taught catechism for many years, helping numerous young Catholic’s start their spiritual path in life. When her children were grown, she enjoyed a 20-year career and as the receptionist to Dr. Edward Jarod. Always an avid reader she enjoyed mysteries and crime novels. In her later years she enjoyed bible studies, cards and Saturday night Rummikub with her friends at Pines Village Retirement Communities where she spent her final years.
Survived by her children Paul (Marsha) Rolih, Judith (Martin) Lyons and Melissa (Richard) Neuberg. Grandchildren Michael (Amber) Rolih, Christine Zivec, Matthew (Diana Czech) Rolih, Allison (Rodney) Lind, Daniel (Raquel) Rolih, Amanda Rolih, Jacob (Shelby) Neuberg, Sean, Aidan and Margaret Lyons. Great-Grandchildren Nolan, Reagan, Emma, Declan, Raelyn and Odin. Sisters Doloros Jaskoviak, Barbara Smith, Sister-in-law Lorraine Rolih, numerous nieces, nephews and treasured friends. Preceded in dead by her Son Louis, Grandson Gregory, Brother Louis Brulc and several Brother’s and Sister’s-in-law.
Thank you to the staff, especially Home Health, at Pines Village Retirement and Northwest Porter Hospital doctors and nurses who helped Patricia keep her grace, independence, and dignity until the end.
Relatives and friends are invited to join the family for visitation on Saturday, June 10, 2023 from 10:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m. at St. Joseph's Church, 416 N Chicago St, Joliet, IL., with funeral services beginning shortly aftter at 11:00 a.m. Cremation will follow in accordance with her wishes and burial services will be held at a later date where Patricia will be laid to rest with her husband at Abraham Lincoln National Cemetery.
