Patricia "Patsy" Mitok, known to her loved ones as Patsy, peacefully passed away on October 13, 2023, at Silver Cross Hospital after a courageous battle with cancer. She was born on December 21, 1948, to the late Harvey and Dorothy (nee Malnar) Richards.
Patsy was a remarkable woman who lived life to the fullest and touched the hearts of everyone she met. She had a vibrant spirit and a zest for adventure. One of her greatest joys was camping at Woodhaven Lakes, where she relished in the beauty of nature and created lasting memories with her loved ones.
An avid car enthusiast, Patsy enjoyed attending car shows with her cherished 1973 Corvette. She found great in the company of her closest cousins, Lou Gura and Diane Bales, with whom she frequented the casino. Patsy also took delight in bowling and boating in the Kankakee River alongside her family and friends.
Patsy is survived by her loving husband, Rick Mitok, who stood by her side throughout her health journey. Their bond was a testament to love's strength and commitment. Together they built a beautiful life filled with cherished moments.
She is also mourned by her beloved son, Marc Lee; dear sister Rita (Bob) Blondis of Milwaukee, WI; daughter-in-law Nancy (the late Michael) Mitok; grandson, Zachary Mitok; step-granddaughter, Jamie (Dinah Off) Eskridge; sisters-in-law, Loraine Mitok and Judy (the late Harvey) Richards; brothers-in-law, Jerry (Laura) Mitok and Donald (Cheryl) Mitok; numerous nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.
Patsy's parents Harvey and Dorothy Richards preceded her in death, as did her brother Harvey Richards and her son, Michael Mitok. Their presence in Patsy's life was cherished, and their memory will forever be held close to the hearts of those who loved them.
In remembering Patsy, let us celebrate her free spirit, warm heart, and infectious laughter. She had a remarkable ability to make others feel at ease and bring joy into their lives. Patsy will be deeply missed by her family and friends, but her memory will live on in the hearts of those she touched. May she rest in peace.
