Patricia E. (Stapay) Dowling

Patricia E. Dowling (nee Stapay), age 51, entered into eternal life on October 1, 2015 surrounded by her loving family.
Patricia is survived by two loving sons, Robert, and Joseph Dowling; two loving step-sons, Jason (Elizabeth) and Jordan (Pamela) Dowling; one loving step-daughter, Ryann Dowling; dear brothers, Timothy and Mark Stapay; loving niece, Caroline Wolf; cherished step-grandchildren, Faye and Beatrice Dowling, Adaline and Everett Dowling.
Preceded in death by her beloved husband, John E. Dowling; parents, Joseph and Ellen (nee McMaster) Stapay.
Patricia took delight in listening to music and playing pool, a game in which few challengers could beat her. She was a devoted mother. Her family was her life. As Patricia’s MS progressed, her strong will allowed her to overcome many challenges that she faced. She and her children spent countless days driving her scooter across town on adventures. These days will never be forgotten. Her beautiful spirit will be forever missed.
A Celebration of Patricia’s life will begin on Wednesday, October 7, 2015 with prayers in the funeral home chapel at 9:30 a.m. then driving in procession to St. Mary Nativity Catholic Church in Joliet for a Mass of Christian Burial at 10:00 a.m. Interment to follow at Mount Olivet Cemetery in Joliet. Visitation will be Tuesday, October 6 from 3:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. at Tezak Funeral Home, 1211 Plainfield Rd, Joliet, IL 60435.
