Patricia K. Barney (nee Kunz) Age 68, of Joliet, at rest November 16, 2005 after a courageous battle with cancer. Survived by beloved husband of 47 years, Angelo T. Barney. Loving mother of two daughters, three sons and five grandchildren; Michael J. Barney of Joliet, Susan E. (Eric) Shellenback, grandchildren, Lauren, Reid, Cate of Moraga, California, Christopher T. (Rose) Barney of Geneva, Illinois, Barbara A. Barney of Joliet, Richard A. (Christine) Barney, grandchildren, Kevin and Brigitte of LaGrange Park, Illinois. Survived by her mother, Dorothy A. Kunz of Wilmington, Illinois; two sisters and two brothers; Dorothy A. (James) Vanderhyden of Elwood, Illionis, Rosemary (Tore) Stole of St. Louis, Missouri, Thomas R. (Peg) Kunz of Wilmington, Illinois, William R. (Peg) Kunz of St. Charles, Illinois; many nieces, nephews and cousins; her sister-in-law, Jeanette (Molaschi) Barney of Joliet; and her brother-in-law, Bernard J. Barney of Joliet. Preceded in death by her father, Alvin J. Kunz of Wilmington, Illinois; two brothers, Joseph Kunz of Wilmington, Illinois, James C. Kunz of Washington, DC; two brothers in law, Lawrence F. Barney of Joliet, Robert A. Barney of Joliet. Patricia was born in Mallard, Iowa and resided in the Wilmington and Joliet area. Graduate of the University of St. Francis. She retired in 2003 as a life time extraordinary teacher in Homer Township, Lockport, Illinois. Patricia served, in her life time pursuit of education for children, many local committees and advisory roles including, as a board member, on the Grade School Board for District #86. A private Mass was celebrated December 3, 2005 in the Cathedral of St. Raymond Nonnatus Church, Joliet. Private interment was in Resurrection Cemetery, Romeoville, Illinois. Memorial donations, in her name, may be made to the Joliet Area Community Hospice, 250 Water Stone Circle, Joliet, Illinois 60431.
