Octaviano C. Reyes, age 83, born in Cuaracurio, Michoacan, Mexico on March 22, 1933. A resident of Joliet for over 40 years, passed away peacefully with his loved ones by his side on Tuesday, February 28, 2017.
Octaviano is survived by his three daughters, Juana (Agustin) Nunez, Yolanda (Antonio) Guerrero and Marina “Nena” (Arthur) Moreno; five sons, Martin (Gabriela), Maurilio (Guadalupe), Jose (Rhonda), Octaviano Jr. (Araceli) and Pedro Reyes; beloved brothers, Cornelio, Nabor and Urbano; dear sisters, Beatriz Carmona and Isabel Reyes; twenty grandchildren; two great-granddaughters; numerous nieces, nephews and cousins.
Preceded in death by his wife, Antonia (2005); parents, Nicolas Reyes and Josefa Chavez; son, Ubertino; infant son, Nicolas; three brothers and two sisters.
He was liked by many and loved by many more.
A Celebration of Octaviano’s life will begin on Saturday, March 4, 2017 with prayers in the funeral home chapel at 9:15 a.m. then driving in procession to Our Lady of Mount Carmel (Jackson Street) for a Mass of Christian Burial to be held at 10:00 a.m. Interment to follow at Elmhurst Cemetery in Joliet. Visitation will be on Friday, March 3, 2017 at Tezak Funeral Home, 1211 Plainfield Road from 3:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m.
