Norman Craig Somers, age 65, of Lockport , went to be with his Lord on the evening of Saturday, May 11, 2013 in his home.
Born June 23, 1947and raised in Chicago, Norman appreciated true Chicago style foods. He loved to cook for his family, had the most addictive laugh, was giving and selfless, and most of all, loved spending quality time with his family and spoiling his grandchildren.
Norman is preceded in death by his loving wife of 38 years, Olivia Barbara Somers; his parents, Josephine and William Somers; and brothers, Melvin and Joseph Somers. He is mourned by his 3 sons, Brian Somers of Lockport, Erik Somers (Aimee Garant) of Chicago and Todd Somers of Oak Forest; sister, Audrey Somers; nephews, Keith Somers and Jesse James, and his biggest pride and joy, his 4 grandchildren, Zackery, Joshua, Brianna and Olivia.
A celebration of NormanA�??s life will begin on Thursday, May 16, 2013 at 1:00 pm with a funeral service in the funeral home chapel. Interment to follow at Holy Sepulchre Cemetery, Worth, IL. Visitation will be on Thursday from 10:00 am until the time of the funeral service at Tezak Funeral Home, 1211 Plainfield Road, Joliet, IL 60435.
